🔴BREAKING: Three men aged between 38 and 47 arrested in connection with the shooting of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in Omagh




Three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of Chief Inspector John Caldwell in Omagh on Wednesday night.

The senior PSNI officer was shot and seriously injured in front of his young son after a U15 football session at a sports complex on Killyclogher Road.

The injured officer is in critical but stable condition at the hospital following surgery on his injuries after he was shot multiple times, including when he was lying on the ground trying to flee the attack.

The arrested men are aged 38, 45 and 47 and were held in Omagh and Coalisland. They’re currently being interrogated in the Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.
