A 12-yr-old girl is recovering in hospital after she was involved in a boating accident on the River Shannon yesterday morning.
It is understood the girl who has since been transferred to Dublin’s Temple Street Children’s Hospital got into difficulties whilst on the water at Old Weir, shortly after 10am.
According to RTÉ News, the girl got trapped under the rowing boat after overturned.
Although she was initially brought to hospital in Limerick she was later transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
Meanwhile three other teenage girls were uninjured in the incident.
