
An estimated 230 migrants are to be given houses in four Co. Tipperary towns.
According to TipperaryLive, between 40 and 45 Syrian families are to be given houses in the County with an announcement expected within the next few weeks by the Co. Council.
It’s understood that the local authority has earmarked roughly four locations for the estimated 230 migrants to be housed.
Details have not been finalised but it’s believed that it will consist of two towns in north Tipperary and two towns in the south of the county.
A public meeting was held last week and saw several hundred people attend in Borrisokane discussing the opening of a direct provision centre for asylum seekers in their village. More details will follow.
