A video that emerged on social media over the last number of days showed a brutal assault of a 19-yr-old man who was kept imprisoned by another man screaming at and punching him.
Dean Furlong with an address at Corlatt, Mullagh, Co Cavan appeared before Monaghan District Court this morning charged with a number of incidents which happened between 17 and 20 October.
According to RTE, Mr Furlong faces three charges, assault causing serious harm, aggravated sexual assault and false imprisonment of a 19-year-old man at a house in Cavan Town.
The court heard there was no application for bail at this time and will appear again in court on Friday. The 19-yr-old man remains in hospital recovering from his injuries.
