450 new jobs to become available in Dublin

LiffeyValleyDublin_1003Good news for the residents of Dublin as Liffey Valley shopping center have announced they will be recruiting new staff members as full time and part time following the expansion of the shopping center.

As part of the expansion the center will see a new ‘Penneys’ store, an update to the cinema, six new restraunts and new civic space setting the company back  €26m. There will be at least 450 new jobs made available in the various shops and restaurants and a further 225 jobs in the construction of the shopping center.

The new jobs will bring the total number of people employed at the shopping centre to over 2,500. The cinema upgrade is expected to open this autumn, however the new Penneys is not due to open until late 2016.
Centre Director Denis O’Connell said it marked an exciting new phase for Liffey Valley.
“Now in our 17th year of trading, Liffey Valley boasts full occupancy with 100 tenants including anchor brands Marks & Spencer, Next, Dunnes Stores and Boots.”

Brian Moran of Hines Ireland, who are the company behind the development – said that there was plenty of room for expansion on the site,

“The land around Liffey Valley includes about another 20 acres of development land,” he said, “so over time our plan is to add incrementally to that, as demand is there, and to add to the amenity value of the centre.”
