Last year, an amount of just under €400,000 was spent on maintenance works. But the budget for this year has been estimated at €1.4m. One of the reasons for the increase?
Worn carpets.
The ministers must shuffle their feet too hard along the carpets during their ministerial walkabouts, and floors have apparently become a ‘health and safety risk’ and also a ‘legal risk.’
Other works include re-plastering of walls, electrical works, and phone system upgrade.
