Trump says it is an honour to be in Ireland – whilst speaking in Shannon

The US President Donald Trump has said it is an honour to be in Ireland whilst speaking before reporters in Shannon this evening.

According to RTÉ News, President Trump who spoke before the press with the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, said it was important to be in Ireland as it is one of the leading countries in terms of having citizens moving to and from the US.

President Trump who was discussing a number of key issues with the Taoiseach, also said that he believes Brexit will work out well and in especially terms of the Irish border situation.

The US President who is scheduled to stay in Doonbeg for two days, also told reporters that he didn’t hear President Michael D Higgins comments about climate change, but reiterated that America has the cleanest air in the world and the country’s stance on climate change has improved since he became president.
