Irish officers and US secret service are said to be working in cohesion to ensure that Vice President Mike Pence has a safe and successful visit to Ireland in September.
It’s understood that plans are already being compiled for the US Vice President’s official trip to make sure all preparations run smoothly.
Mike Pence, who is known to have Irish roots, will make a three day visit to Ireland and is expected to meet the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar upon his arrival.
The visit comes after the US President Donald Trump visited Ireland last month when he spent two days at his Doonbeg resort.
The US vice-president is expected to visit Dublin, Cork and Shannon upon his visit.
