Both Alan Kelly and Aodhán Ó Ríordáin have declared their intentions on becoming the next leader of the Labour Party.
The contest which was confirmed in the past few hours will see both men contest for inner party support to succeed Brendan Howlin.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Drivetime programme Ó Ríordáin said that he will run for party leader and vowed to get the party back campaigning to the people once again.
Meanwhile Kelly who declared his intention earlier today vowed to work for the people by interaction with unions and communities.
