As more and more countries become infected with Covid-19, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced that it’s raising its global risk assessment level to its highest level after its rapid spread over the past 72 hours.
It’s understood that the WHO raised its level of global risk after a major financial markets nose dive after the coronavirus spread to sub-Saharan Africa – a fear many health experts had last week.
The BBC reports that WHO chiefs say that past three days’ developments “are clearly of concern”, and that the rapid spread of the virus is now likely to see it spread to many more countries over the coming days.
The WHO has advised countries to drastically isolate anyone who may be infected and try and contain the coronavirus as much as possible.
