A middle aged man was arrested yesterday afternoon in Carlow after he tired to get into a confrontation with the Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
The incident happened when Kenny was finishing canvassing for the by-election in Kilkenny/Carlow.
He was getting into his car at the Fair green shopping centre at 4:30pm when a man tried to approach him and onlookers say “a hefty confrontation took place with gardai” resulting in an gardai jumping in to rescue the Taoiseach.
They arrested the man but released him a few hours later without charge. A file is now being prepared for the DPP.
