Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer is said to be extremely concerned with the high number of people in hospital around the country with covid.
Today’s numbers are the highest numbers since January 2021.
The Department of Health have confirmed that there has been 2,966 Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours.
In an announcement the Department also confirmed that there are currently 470 people in hospital with Covid-19.
They also say there are 92 people in ICU across the country with the virus.
It’s understood that the number of people in ICU is now of most concern to NPHET claiming that the health service is now under pressure again.
