The Irish Government appears to be setting up the narrative for a new lockdown, as a minister has today hinted at ‘further restrictions’ coming next week.
Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe has said that there’s a ‘strong possibility’ that new restrictions might be introduced due to the new coronavirus variant.
The new variant has not been detected in Ireland, officially at least. The new variant is believed to evade current antibodies, which means that Ireland’s much-touted vaccination program would have been for nothing, and people would have been injected up to three times with a compound that does not protect them from anything.
