Ridiculous: Department of Education suggests not to open windows as wide to avoid freezing classrooms

The Department of Education have seemingly suggested that window’s in school classrooms don’t have to be open wide in cold temperatures.

In what seems as bizarre advice, the Minister for Education Norma Foley told Newstalk that window’s don’t have to be open fully in order to provide ventilation.

Foley went on to suggest that window’s could be opened at lower levels in order to prevent colder classrooms.

The Education Minister’s comments come after a number schools voiced their concerns as students and staff were left with no option but to sit in classrooms registering temperatures less than 10C earlier this week.
