The U.S and NATO have given the green light to Poland to give all of its MIG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine to help them wage war against Russia.
The Soviet era planes will be flown to the U.S Airforce base in Ramstein, Germany where it is thought Ukranian pilots will then fly them to their home country to attack the Russians while the U.S government has agreed to compensate Poland with 28 F-16 fighter jets.
The deal is designed to share the danger of retaliation between the three NATO allies of Poland, Germany and the U.S.
The Russian government has previously warned that countries giving military aircraft to Ukraine would be considered “participants in the conflict”.
