Pope Francis has asked every parish in Europe to put up just one migrant family each in the wake of this week’s sad and tragic images.
Migrants have been fleeing a war infested Syria, from both ISIS and internal fighting.
Pope Francis made the request this morning at Mass and said he and his aides have said that the “little 3-yr-old boy pictured lying dead on the beach is one of the most tragic and sad images the world has ever seen”.
The Vatican have confirmed that they will be housing some of the migrants themselves.
A hotel in Kildare is expected to use all their rooms to house over 500 migrants. The UK and Germany are said to be taking tens of thousands of migrants in the coming days.
