’tis going to be a chilly weekend, with temperatures barely reaching 4-5C on Saturday, and sharp ground frost expected to make driving conditions treacherous overnight.
The capital has seen its first snowfall of Winter 2015 this evening, too, with residents in Sandyford, Rathmines, Clontarf, Donabate, and elsewhere reporting the white stuff. However, the snow will not stick. In typical Irish style, Sunday will bring wind and rain, making for a very uncomfortable outdoor experience.
While the whole weekend is expected to remain very cold indeed, relatively mild conditions will return by Monday of next week.
