In a Wall Street Journal interview, US Vice President Kamala Harris stated that she is prepared to lead as voter worries over President Joe Biden’s advanced age in an election year grow, reports RTE.
As the heir apparent to the president in the event that Mr. Biden, 81, becomes disabled or steps down, the 59-year-old has come under increasing criticism over her own qualifications.
“I’m ready to help. When asked if she needed to persuade voters of her qualifications in light of their reservations about the president’s age, Ms. Harris told the newspaper, “There’s no question about that,” reports RTE.
“Everyone who sees me at work “walks away completely aware of my potential to lead,” stated Ms. Harris, the first female, black, and South Asian vice president in US history.
Two days before to a damning special counsel report that painted Democratic candidate Joe Biden as old and senile, the interview took place, reports RTE.
