Gardaí in Co Cork have now confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man whose body was discovered in rented accommodation in Skibbereen on Monday morning.
The investigation comes after a post-mortem examination revealed that the man 51-year-old Englishman John Ustic, died as a result of an injury he received in an attack.
Speaking about the investigation Superintendent Ger O’Mahony, told RTE News that Gardai suspect foul play in Mr Ustic’s death as it was clear that he died as a result of an injury sustained in an assault.
Supt O’Mahony added that Gardai are no following a number of lines of inquiry in order to catch those responsible for Mr Ustic’s death.
