Employment numbers are up by 10,400 in just 3 months, as jobless figures fall to their lowest in nearly five years.
Today’s quarterly national household survey from the CSO shows that the national unemployment rate stands 11.1%, down from 11.5% in June.
That means employment is at its highest level since a low point in 2009, and represents an annual increase of 1.5% – or 27,700 extra jobs.
