According to various reports in Spain a police officer has sadly died after he suffered a heart attack following rioting before a UEFA Europa League match in Bilbao.
It is understood the police officer who was policing the crowd surrounding the San Mames Stadium, suffered the heart attack after he recieved a head injury during an altercation with rioting fans of Atlethic Bilbao and Spartark Moscow.
The officers tragic passing comes after both set of supporters clashed minutes before the match kicked off.
According to Diario AS the violent scenes occurred after a section of Russian fans without tickets attempted to cause disruption by setting off flares and fireworks on the streets of Basque City.
Reports say the home supporters were riled up by the unruly chanting and behaviour that ultimately resulted in both sets of supporters clashing with officers outside the stadium.
