Rescue crews have been praised for their efforts and quick thinking after they successfully managed to rescue a group of teenagers on Sandymount Beach this afternoon.
It is understood the group needed rescuing after they got into difficulty when the incoming tide came in around them.
The incident which required the assistance of Dun Laoghaire RNLI and the Irish Coast Gaurd occurred at shortly before 2:30pm this afternoon.
Following a quick response from both rescue services the teenagers were successfully rescued. It is believed all those rescued were unharmed in the incident.
