Three female students at Cork University College have alleged that they have been raped in the first week of the semester.
The head of the Sexual Violence Centre in Cork, Mary Crilly, made the revelations of the claims at Cork City Joint Policing Committee.
Crilly warned of a group of men targeting girls leaving nightclubs and parties and said that “male predators” targeted young girls aged 18 and 19.
The girls were attending first night parties according to Crilly who said they were “caught on the hop”
None of the rapes have yet been reported to the Gardai.
