A journalist investigating EU corruption has been murdered in Bulgaria, the UK Express reports.
The body of 30-year-old investigative journalist Viktoria Marinova was found in the town of Ruse on the Danube river. She had been raped and murdered authorities have stated.
Marinova, along with a group of other investigative journalists, was looking into companies that had received EU infrastructure funds from local authorities in the country.
So far authorities have not linked the murder with her work as a journalist but Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has stated that he is confident they will get to the truth of the of this heinous crime.
