A former Ulster Unionist Party MP has said the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar must “stop trying to be more Irish than the Irish.”
The former Northern Ireland MP behind the comments John Taylor or Lord Kilclooney, has claimed that the Taoiseach needs to change his tactics in regards to Brexit negotiations.
In a tweet Lord Kilclooney said that relations between the Ireland and the UK are worsening and that Mr Varadkar needs to change his way about how he handles furture negotiations.
He added the Taoiseach: “must stop trying to be more Irish than the Irish.”
As BREXIT proceeds there is an increasing awareness that UK/Irish relations are worsening. Many say that Veradkar has overplayed his hand. I know we are approaching election time in the Republic but Veradkar must stop trying to be more Irish than the Irish.
