Met Éireann have updated their yellow status update as 2cm of snow is expected to fall in some parts of the country.
In revised update the national forecaster said some snowfall is expected on high ground in Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster from 11pm tonight.
They also say there is a possibility of some light flurries on lower ground and temperatures will remain low with a strong chance of ice and frost developing overnight.
Met Éireann say the weather warning will remain in place until 11am tomorrow.
