
Three persons have been charged in relation to the weekend murder of a youngster in County Tyrone and have appeared in court, reports RTE.
They consist of an aunt and the mother of the young girl. Manslaughter is the charge against the mother. Her lover faces murder charges.
Tavia Michella Ximenes Da Costa, age 2, was discovered dead at a home in Windmill Court, Dungannon, on Sunday.
The East Timorese community included her, reports RTE.
There was evidence that she had been shook, and the court heard that the cause of death was a brain damage “caused by blunt force trauma”.
Januaria Sarmento Ximenes, 29, of Windmill Court, Dungannon, is accused of killing her.
According to the court, a pathologist discovered a burn on the child’s ear and grasp marks on her arm. There were no wounds older than five days, reports RTE.
The court was informed that Mr. Ximenes had spent the early hours of Sunday morning in a Dungannon nightclub.
He was seen by the local police outside the club, and they characterised his actions as “angry and aggressive”.
Although he claimed to have been out until much later, they thought he had left for home at approximately 2:30 am, reports RTE.
A neighbour who was questioned by police claimed to have heard two ladies crying frantically in the residence at approximately 2:30 in the morning.
The yelling was reported as “intense” and had continued for ten minutes, reports RTE.
