The man was driving a motorcycle at the time of the accident and collided with the woman’s car on the Portlaoise to Ballybrittas Road.
The incident occurred in Co Laois yesterday evening.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Portlaoise where he later passed away due to his injuries.
R419 has been closed as a thorough forensic examination is being carried out to determine the exact cause of the accident.
