The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has called on the public to double down in order to stem the spread of Covid-19.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Glynn said that although Tuesday’s figures were high the five day moving average is relatively stable at approximately 115 cases per day.
Although Dr Glynn said the case rate remains stable, he did reiterate that the number is still too high and called on the public to double down on their efforts.
The acting Chief Medical Officer called on the public to continue to practice proper hygiene, use face masks and to social distance when appropriate.
