In a bizarre incident at an airport, an elderly woman was accused of trying to hide 3kg of cocaine inside her wheelchair.
According to the Mirror, the 81-year-old was allegedly stopped at Colombia’s Jose Maria Cordova International Airport at which point police discovered the drugs inside the metal tubing of the wheelchair. The woman was about to fly to Spain when police noted something odd about the shape of the wheelchair’s frame. After taking it apart, they discovered the drugs.
The woman was flying alone to meet relatives and as she has denied responsibility for having the drugs, leading police to begin an investigation to see if the drugs were in fact planted on her by traffickers.
