Almost 600 patients are languishing in Irish hospitals waiting for beds




The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) reported that 605 hospitalised patients were awaiting beds, reports Breaking News.

According to the INMO Trolley Watch, 224 patients were waiting in hospital wards elsewhere, while 381 patients were waiting in emergency rooms.

University Hospital Limerick has 110 admitted patients waiting for a bed. While 58 people waited in other hospital wards, 52 people waited in the emergency room, reports Breaking News.

On Thursday morning, 76 people were awaiting beds at Cork University Hospital.

There were 40 patients waiting for beds at Sligo University Hospital and 61 at University Hospital Galway, reports Breaking News.

Ten of the 15 patients waiting for beds at the three children’s hospitals were at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

Tallaght University Hospital had 31 people on the waiting list, Beaumont Hospital had 26, and St. Vincent’s University Hospital had 25, reports Breaking News.
