Anger in hospitality sector as Government meet NHPET to see when they’ll allow indoor dining to commence

It’s understood that this coming Thursday, the government was due to meet with NPHET to see what they’re going to allow the restart of indoor dining.

The Liberal understands that that particular meeting has been brought forward and will take place on Tuesday in an effort to take the pressure off the government from the hospitality sector who some of their representatives say are now considering legal action.

Thanks to Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan, it’s looking increasingly likely that indoor dining will be a thing of the past for the foreseeable future at least.

Indoor hospitality is now likely to remain closed beyond July 5 due to the threat posed by the Delta variant.

Pubs, bars, and restaurants nationwide were fully prepared to reopen on that date, as had been indicated by the Government, but this now appears not to be the case.

Former Taoiseach appointee and current Tanaiste Leo Varadkar recently referred to the Delta variant as a ‘dark cloud’ in Ireland’s horizon.
