In the region of 2,000 homes and businesses in the Southeast are without power this evening following a lightning strike.
ESB Networks have confirmed that they are currently working to restore power to customers in counties Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow.
The outage comes after Met Eireann issued a yellow status thunder warning for Leinster and Monaghan.
The warning which came into effect at 11am this morning will remain in place until 3am on Sunday morning.
