In what can only be described as utterly disgraceful in what’s meant to be a first world country, Ireland now has one million are on waiting lists for acute hospital appointments.
The Irish Hospital Consultants Association released the figures today.
Speaking at the organisation’s annual conference, its president, Dr Donal O’Hanlon, announced that close to 570,000 people were waiting to be seen by a consultant.
Many believe that the latest figures show just how inept the Minister for Health Simon Harris is with multiple calls for his resignation.
