As thousands of migrants pour into Ireland, report finds 38,000 Irish people are homeless since 2014

Research by Focus Ireland and Trinity College’s School of Social Work and Social Policy has found that more than 38,000 adults have been homeless in Ireland since 2014.

According to the Independent, the summary edition of Focus on Homelessness 2014-2021 saw a huge increase in the number of homeless people in Ireland that began in 2014 and slowed in 2018.

However the report finds that the number of homeless households in Ireland stands at 5,500.

That figure was nearly two and a half times what was deemed unacceptable in 2014, which was 2,300, according to the report.

Many people feel absolutely outraged that the government are bent on migrants being brought into Ireland and given houses before the tens of thousands of homeless Irish people are provided for.
