28-yr-old Brenton Tarrant from Australia has pleaded “not guilty to all charges” to the mosque murders in Christchurch when he appeared in court in New Zealand on Friday.
A total of 51 people were brutally murdered when a man, believed to be Tarrant, recorded the mass murder live on social media. He was in court on multiple murder and terrorism charges.
He appeared in the Christchurch court via video-link from a maximum-security prison in Auckland. Brenton Tarrant sat beside his lawyer Shane Tait, who said that his client pleaded “not guilty to all charges”.
Judge Cameron Mander set a trial date of 4 May next year.
