Authorities attempting to recover the aircraft wfich was carrying Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson, have confirmed that a body has been recovered from the wreckage.
In a statement released late on Wednesday night, The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) confirmed that a body was brought to the surface following a lengthy operation.
Although the identity of the body has yet to be confirmed, authorities say the remains have been taken to Portland so they can passed into the care of the Dorset Coroner.
The AAIB say the operation was conducted in a respectful way and both families have been fully informed throughout the operation.
It is expected that experts leading the operation will now attempt to raise part of the plane wreckage from the sea bed in the coming days ahead.
However that operation could potentially prove difficult given weather conditions in the English Channel.
