
The proposed bus strike scheduled for this weekend will go ahead according to reports, after talks aimed at resolving the dispute have apparently broken down.
The scheduled strike will effect more than 1 million passengers when workers from Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann will stop services at midnight tonight for 48 hours. Talks are thought to have broken down after Unions and management from both companies held a meeting at the Labour Relations Commission this afternoon.
The proposed strikes which are to happen across the bank holiday weekend after a dispute took place over plans to sell off one in ten routes to private operators.
