Belfast Priest calls on pro-abortion politicians to have “integrity” and refrain from Communion and pretending to be Catholic

A Catholic Priest in Belfast has called for politicians who back Westminster’s imposed changes to the North of Ireland’s abortion laws should be refused Holy Communion.

This is in keeping with Roman Catholic teaching which stipulates that a person who is in mortal sin should not receive Holy Communion.

The Priest, Fr Patrick McCafferty, from the Corpus Christi Paris, made the comments in an interview with the Andersonstown News following Westminster’s imposition of legal abortion and gay marriage on the six counties.

Fr McCafferty told the paper that it was “a complete and utter contradiction” to promote abortion and still act as a practising Catholic and went on to say that if you support abortion “You should have the honesty and integrity to not present yourself for Holy Communion.”

While liberals have celebrated the imposition of legalised gay marriage and abortion on the North by London the situation can be reversed should a DUP-Sinn Fein be reformed and decide to repeal the law.

However, Sinn Fein have taken an ultra-pro-abortion stance in recent years and it appears they will be happy to accept British rule so long it enables the aborting of Irish babies.
