Body of missing young man found in river in Co Cork

Gardai in Co Cork have confirmed that a young man has tragically died after he was found last night in a river near his home.

The young man who was 28-years-old is understood to have been last seen when he was out with pals on Saturday night and it’s thought that he may have slipped and fell into the water between Leap and Skibbereen in west Cork while making his way home.

Gardai also say that they are treating te young man’s death as a tragic accident. The young man was reported missing by his family when he didn’t return home following his night out.

The man’s body was recovered from the river near near his family home and taken to Cork University Hospital, were a full post mortem examination will take place by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster

It is also believed that a file on the matter will be prepared for the west Cork coroner.
