Met Eireann has issued a warning stating that an icy snap will take hold on Wednesday, bringing hail, sleet, and snow once again.
Though today, Monday, will be a bright and sunny day in most areas, with temperatures ranging between 8 and 10C, the weather will take a marked turn for the worse tonight.
Fog and frost are expected in most parts of the country as the night goes on, with black ice formation likely.
Tuesday will also be bright and sunny, but it will be cold, windy, and showery by Wednesday morning.
Freezing conditions will continue on Thursday, with temperatures set to plunge to minus four. The cold snap is forecast to continue into the weekend.
