Met Éireann have issued two weather warnings with Storm Barbara due to pass over Ireland this weekend.
There is a status orange wind warning for coastal regions and high ground in Mayo, Galway and Donegal.
Winds will reach up to 75 kilometres per hour on Friday, with gusts as high as 120km/hr. The rest of the country has a status yellow wind warning is in place with gusts reaching 110kms/hr.
The most severe conditions will present on Friday and Saturday. ESB have prepared for nationwide power outages with call-out crew on standby.
This evening will be mostly dry and cold with frost developing in areas. Tomorrow will be dry with sunny spells and scattered showers.
The wet stormy ‘stay indoors if you can’ weather hits us from Friday.
