A body can be seen amongst the wreckage of the plane carrying footballer Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson, authorities have confirmed.
In an announcement made in the past hour, the The Air Accident Investigation Branch confirmed that the plane which went missing on January 21st was found on the seabed off Guernsey.
In a statement the AAIB said the following: “The remotely operated vehicle (ROV) carried out a further search of the area overnight, but did not identify any additional pieces of wreckage.
“Tragically, in video footage from the ROV, one occupant is visible amidst the wreckage. The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the police.”
Meanwhile the lead Marine Scientist David Mearns also confirmed that the plane had been found about 63m below water.
Mr Mearns who is part of a privately funded search operation confirmed that most of the plane is in tact.
The body onboard the wreckage has yet to be formally identified and authorities say that they are yet to decide whether to raise the wreckage from the sea.
However a decision is expected to be made in the coming hours ahead.
