A man remains in critical condition in Beaumont Hospital following a vicious assault in Dublin’s Temple Bar. The incident occurred on Cope Street at around 12:30am on Wednesday, when the victim arrived in the area on an e-scooter.

Gardaí described the attack as brutal. The man was set upon by two assailants shortly after his arrival. They took his e-scooter and struck him multiple times with it before leaving him unconscious on the ground. He was later discovered and rushed to hospital, where his condition has been deemed critical.

The victim has not yet been identified, and authorities are appealing to the public for help. He has a distinctive tattoo on the inside of his right forearm: a blue and white flag bearing the words “Ceol is Beatha” (Irish for “Music is Life”).

No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been reported as the investigation continues. Gardaí are urging any witnesses to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 66-69-000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 66-61-11, or any local station.

Temple Bar, a popular nightlife district, has seen similar incidents in the past, highlighting ongoing concerns about late-night safety in the city centre.
