BREAKING: Met Eireann advise motorists and pedestrians to take extreme care as snow, ice and freezing conditions are expected over the next 96 hours




Met Eireann, the national weather forecaster has advised people to be extremely careful over the next 96 hours, both motorists and pedestrians, as conditions are going to be treacherous.

The national weather forecaster predicts heavy snow, icy conditions, slippy footpaths, pathways, roads, motorways, and for motorists, in particular B roads.

People are advised to take extreme care if their our walking or driving over the coming days, especially given the hospital situation at the moment in the country and not to add to that burden if at all possible during this severe cold snap.

Weather experts who predicted the dreaded ‘Beast from the east’ would hit Ireland and the UK have once again come out swinging for the fences with predictions that both islands are going to get heavily covered in widespread snowfall.

A four day weather warning has been issued as Ireland is preparing for snow and freezing conditions from tonight.

Met Eireann have issued a four day warning beginning tonight and ending at the earlies on Wednesday evening.

The national forecaster says that there will be heavy showers snow beginning on Sunday night with icy patches expected overnight.

They added that conditions are expected to be hazardous especially on roads and paths with heavy-lying snow in many places.
