People are advised to be extremely vigilant while driving this morning, in particular on B roads. Met Eireann, the national forecaster has said that there’s a distinct possibility of snow and polar air descending across the country in the coming hours and days.
Showers will turn increasingly wintry today as widespread showers and thunderstorm activity moves in from the Atlantic.
Met Eireann say that last night was a particularly cold night with frost and ice. Showers today will become increasingly more frequent throughout the day with hail, sleet and snow, particularly along the Atlantic coastline.
