Gerry Adams has been brought in for questioning over Jean McConville murder.
The PSNI press office has issued a statement without naming Mr Adams, saying a 65-year-old man had presented himself at Antrim station for questioning about the murder. A tweet from the PSNI said “a 65 year old man had been arrested”.
Around the same time, a statement from Mr Adams confirmed this. “Last month I said that I was available to meet the PSNI about the Jean McConville case. While I have concerns about the timing, I am voluntarily meeting with the PSNI this evening,” said Mr Adams. More to follow…
