The Sinn Fein President and Louth TD spent the night in an Antrim jail cell last night.
He was arrested and subsequently questioned for 4 hours about whether he knew, gave the go ahead or was involved in the abduction and murder of mother-of-10 Jean McConville.
Adams will resume his questioning this morning at 8:30.
He will then either be charged, releases or an appeal made for further questioning.
Pundits are already saying that whatever happens, this is going to have a significantly bad impact on the Sinn Fein tallies on polling day.
