Theresa May’s government has been described on Sky News as being in “meltdown” after Boris Johnson resigns as Foreign Secretary allegedly over his disagreement with how May is handling Brexit.
According to Sky News, a Downing Street spokesman said: “This afternoon, the Prime Minister accepted the resignation of Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary. His replacement will be announced shortly. The Prime Minister thanks Boris for his work.”
This latest resignation comes just hours after the actual Brexit Minister himself David Davis resigns. Rumours are already rife that Johnson may try to push Theresa May out of office and run for the leadership of the Conservative party and a de facto Prime Minister.
