The British Parliament is somewhat in a state of chaos this afternoon as the British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson resigned from his position this afternoon.

The news of Mr Johnson’s resignation comes after two further British Cabinet members handed in their resignations over the past 24 hours.

It is believed the sudden exodus comes after a number of Parliament Ministers disagreed with the Prime Minister’s decision in regards to Britain’s safe Brexit plan.

According to Sky News Mr Johnson followed in the footsteps of Brexit Secretary David Davis who handed in his resignation on Sunday night.

Meanwhile Johnson’s Department colleague Steve Baker has also decided to quit.

In a statement released in the past hour Westminster confirmed Mr Johnson’s resignation by stating the following: “This afternoon, the prime minister accepted the resignation of Boris Johnson as foreign secretary. His replacement will be announced shortly. The prime minister thanks Boris for his work.”

The latest developments have now put the Prime Minister Theresa May’s position into serious question as a number of political correspondents in the UK have said the resignation of two high profile figures has taken her credibility away.

It is reported by Sky News that Mr Johnson decided to resign after he strongly disagreed with Ms May’s decision to bow to Brussels, by calling the agreement a ‘polished turd’.
